A Gift for the Season

I've been blessed with so much in my life, and though things have been tough from time to time (especially in this current economy), I still feel like I have so much more than many others. So, in the spirit of this season, I honor my family with a gift that will benefit others. I hope they accept this gift as a small token of my love and appreciation for all of them, and what they mean to me in my life.

Because I love Mexico so much, the first loan goes to this sweet little lady:

Georgina González Hernández, from Acuna, Mexico, has been selling used clothes for 3 years. This is her only source of income to cover her household's expenses. She seeks this loan so that she can purchase seasonal merchandise to grow her sales and generate additional earnings.

And because I realize that so many in our own country have had difficulties, I felt this was a good cause as well:

Norma Montalvo, from San Antonio, Texas, opened Bistro Six to fulfill her dream of working the in food industry. She decided to start a food truck because she wanted to make buying excellent food more convenient for people. Norma and her husband used to grab breakfast at food trucks before work. These experiences helped Norma learn about this model of food production. Bistro Six is successful because of the commitment of Norma and her family. Her oldest son, Javier, is the executive chef and her stepdaughter, Stacey, is the sous chef.

I have had four loans successfully repaid, through Kiva, and feel it's a great way to give others the opportunity to be successful, while giving them the chance to have pride in what they are doing, and a sense of self-respect as well.

Through my entire life I've been fortunate to have had parents who exhibited a strong influence of giving ... and who always taught me that it was 'better to give than to receive'. Their kindness to others made a huge impact on me ... and the seeds that were planted by their example has prompted me to make that a lifestyle choice as well ... and continues to be something of great importance in my life.

Today, in appreciation for all that they have given to me, I honor my father - on his 86th Birthday - by giving a gift of hope to a woman in Paraguay - that we can all follow and support.

But first. The inspiration.

This week on 'Oprah' ( http://www2.oprah.com/index.jhtml ), Bill Clinton came on the show to share about his new book 'Giving'. Here's a little bit about the book (which I'm sending to my Dad as well):

On the show, they told about this amazing online organization, 'Kiva.org' (see link to info at bottom), that is mentioned in 'Giving'. This organization provides an opportunity to go online and make loans to people from different countries, and watch their progress as they pay back the loans. When the loan is repaid, the funds become available again, and you can choose a new person to help out. One small loan, combined with many other loans, will allow people in need to provide for their families and their futures. I loved the idea ... and appreciated the effort to join together with others - to help with some solid, much needed funds, that could really make a difference in the lives of these people.

So ... in honor of my Dad - on his 86th birthday, I have made a small loan to Elva Brizuela, a single mother in Ybycuí, Paraguay, to help her purchase supplies for her store. This loan has taken Elva to the 100% level - so that she can now receive the loan. I just received these photos from an old friend. The top photo is of me (on the left) and the friend who sent the photos - Teresa (on the right). In the bottom photo Teresa and are in the very front (she in on far left ... I'm on far right).

These photos are from my first backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail - 1977 - and the bottom shot is at our starting point - Springer Mountain. My former husband and I were counselors/leaders on the trip - and I was 27 years old. Teresa was a Junior in High School - and 17 years old. The group is our churches Senior High Youth Group. It was an amazing trip ... and one that I will never forget!

I just found out that that these 'kids' are planning a Reunion in August - of all of 'the old gang' ... and I'm going to be helping with the planning. Teresa, Bill (second from the left on back row) and Phil (on the back row - in the middle - right in between the two guys with red hats) - are the three who came up with the idea - and have started the ball rolling. Bill is in N.Y. - so it's hard for him to help out much - so I've offered to help out too. It should be lots of fun ... and many memories! Can't wait!

And ... it was fun seeing these photos ... from so many years ago. : )

MEMORIAL DAY ... May 28, 2007

On this day, I would like to honor Jeffrey Wershow - who was killed in Iraq on July 6, 2003, while serving with my son, Christopher - in the Florida Army National Guard - 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, Orlando, Fla. He was 22 years old - the same age as my son, at the time. My son is now 26.

My son was one of the soldiers who heard the call for help, and arrived within minutes - to the horrible scene. He was part of the team who was sent to look for the shooter - who was never apprehended.

This is Jeffrey's Memorial Service held in Iraq. Those are his boots, helmet, photo and dog tags. There was a little video put together by his fellow soldiers - to 'Amazing Grace' - and it had still photos from the service. It was heartbreaking to watch ... as the soldiers came - one by one - to pay their respects ... and weep for the loss of their friend.
The photo to the left is Jeffrey Wershow’s Flag - that was placed on the berm at the border from Jordan into Iraq – to let the world know that it was “the Florida boys” that paved the way for Special Forces to enter into Iraq (before the war 'officially' began). This flag was presented to Charlie Company, upon their return from Iraq (which is when this photo was taken). The flag now resides in the Florida National Guard Museum in St. Augustine. It has great meaning to all of Charlie Company.

May God Bless all of our Troops ... those who are serving now ... and those who served in the past. They will always hold the scars of war ... and the losses of their fellow soldiers in their hearts.

May God be with all of the families and friends - of those who were lost in military service.

And may there - some day -
be Peace on Earth!

Four Years Later!!

Today - on this Four Year Anniversary of the start of the War in Iraq - I am saying prayers of gratitude that my youngest son, Chris, made it back home safely. He was called up on December 26, 2002, and had to report to duty the next day. Within a couple of weeks he was in training at Ft. Benning, GA. - and on Feburary 14th, 2003, he was in Iraq. His life was changed during the 15 months that he served with the Florida Army National Guard overseas. So this is just a little 'moment' of sharing some photos (click on photo to enlarge) ... of Then ... And Now.

And ... it is also a Tribute to these brave soldiers from Charlie Company - 2nd Infantry / 124th Battalion - who gave their lives for our country:

Cpl. John T. Rivero (23) - 4/17/2003 - died in a Humvee accident ... and ...

Pfc. Jeffrey Wershow (22) - 7/6/2003 - killed in action - Baghdad University

LATEST UPDATE ON BABY JACOB - As of 7:30 PM - Sunday - 3/18/07: Jacob is doing much better! He is breathing on his own now ... and has had the feeding tube removed ... and is also being fed by the nurses now. Thanks so much - for the many prayers for Jacob!!

UPDATE ON BABY JACOB - As of 7:30 PM - Saturday-3/17/07: Good news! Jacob is doing a little better - and is on only 40% oxygen now. He is to be at St. Mary's in West Palm Beach 4-7 days. The Docs anticipate that he will recover. I'll continue to update here. Thanks for your prayers!

MAIN POST:
My Niece, Kristina, gave birth to beautiful Jacob Wesley on Thursday - 3/15/07 - at Martin Memorial in Stuart, FL. He weighed in at 8'3" and everything seemed great.

On Friday (3/16), Jacob started having problems ... and that afternoon he was transferred to the Children's Hospital at St. Mary's in Palm Beach area. Kristina had a C-Section - and her Doctors recommended that she not travel - but she has insisted on checking herself out of the hospital - to travel to be with her little baby. Her Mom, Vicki, came up from Miami on Saturday - to drive her down to Palm Beach ... and my brother, Wes (the guy in the photos - with the beard), and his wife, Michele, are caring for her other son, David (see updated photos). You may remember the photos I posted a while back - of Kristina and baby David - who was born November 29, 2005. They are both beautiful babies.

By the way - in the photos of David - 16 months - the center photo is also my Niece, Kaitlyn. She is my brothers youngest.

Please keep Baby Jacob - and Kristina and David (his parents) ... and our family, in your prayers. It will be much appreciated.

Busy Life!!

I know that I've been MIA (missing in action) for a while ... but I read the Blogs almost every day - to keep up with what is happening in Blog-Land - although I haven't had a lot of time to write. So ... here are just a few of the reasons that I've been busy!

Work! That's a huge reason! I had eight projects at one time (industry standards suggest that 'a good Producer' can handle three at a time) - and that included five events in four weeks. I finished off the eight projects in May and, since then, I've been trying to catch up on personal 'stuff' ... and have begun two new projects at work ... and have bids out on two others.

One project that took a lot of my time ... and my heart ... was a video production for Family Service Center in Largo, FL. This center offers counseling services for children and families of sexual abuse. The photos here are stills that I took while on a video shoot at USF-St. Pete Library ... and they are from a display of masks that were created by the abuse victims. The first photo is in the entry way ... and has so many masks hanging down. The thing that struck me most - was how many there were. Each one represented a person who was abused. So sad.

These close up shots (with titles), show masks that were created ... with the persons name, age and who their perpetrator was. The creation of these masks is part of their therapy ... and helps them to express their feelings about a very difficult and personal time in their lives. I was deeply moved by this exhibit ... and it was an honor to have had the opportunity to produce their video - that will help to educate people about the center ... and help to raise funds for this very important organization.

Exciting 'Happenings'!!

Another really cool project that I worked on - was the huge Give Kids The World Black & White Gala, held at The Peabody Orlando. This May event brings in an audience of over one thousand of the 'Who's Who' in Orlando 'society' ... and is the largest fundraiser of the year for GKTW. This was the fourth year that I produced this exciting event, along with the CS2 team (where I work).

This pic was taken during the rehearsals. We had a 70's theme - and these singers and dancers were spinning on a 'Go Go' Cage. It was pretty wild! The event was a huge success, and our client (The Peabody) said that this year truly was 'the best crew ever'. Very cool!

And ... now ... the personal! Had to say 'Good-Bye' to my dear friend, Susannah (far right) - when she moved to the D.C. area - to take on a new job. We had a little going away party for her - at one of our favorite haunts, 'Moon Under Water' - in downtown St. Pete. I will surely miss her! But - of course - it's a great excuse to travel to D.C. - once she gets settled in!

Another exciting 'happening' ... was news of my niece's pregnancy (my younger sisters daughter). April (the soon to be 'famous' screenplay writer from Hollywood) is on the far left (due to have her son in September). Others in the pic are my younger sisters step-daughters, Amanda, Emily (also pregnant in this pic) and Sarah. They were all in Vegas - for a Baby Shower for Em.

And ... here is Em - post Baby! Beautiful little Zolten Penn (first baby pic) - named after Em's maiden name and Penn's first name. That's the family together - with Moxie (Zolten's big Sister) - on 'Birth-day'. And, of course, my brother-in-law (Bob Zolten) is loving the name!

And ... that same week ... another family Baby Boy born (2nd baby pic) ... to my nephew, Matthew (my older sisters son), ... and his wife, Natasha (looking a bit tired - but happy). So ... meet amazing Matthew Landon: sleeping like an angel (above) ... and in his Daddy's arms.

Lastly ... but not the least 'happening' ... are the preparations for my youngest sons wedding - rapidly approaching in September! Here's Chris (25) ... and his beautiful fiance, Carey. They are so much 'in love' ... and I just love seeing them together. And ... I am so very happy that they have found each other!

This is a photo of Carey ... at her first Shower that was held last Sunday - in Deland (only a three hour round trip trek - but well worth it)! The second Shower is coming up in a couple of weeks ... so I'll be doing the same trip again ... but wouldn't miss it for the world!

Also keeping me busy - has been the planning of the wedding video (which is one of my gifts to Chris and Carey) ... and the creation of their wedding website - which we hope to launch this weekend. The wedding is September 30th ... in Orlando, FL!

So ... as you can see ... life has been very full for me! And ... I've even been back on Match.com ... venturing very slowly back into that world. Very slowly (ha ha).

With all that I've been involved in ... and all that has been happening ... I've been also striving for balance in my life ... and have maintained my 15 pound weight loss (yeah!) ... had a 'thumbs up' from my Oncologist - on my 5 year Anniversary follow-up ... and have begun the hard and exhausting effort of re-organizing my home (and actually making progress). So I feel like everything is 'as it should be' (most everything) ... and I feel very blessed. Life ... is good!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season ... and that NYE was fun ... or peaceful ... or whatever you needed it to be. I just pray that it brought in a year full of hope and joy for each of you!

Friday, November 4th, 2005: Jackie arrives in Tampa, FL ... and Cathy in Carolina graciously provides Limo service for her transportation to the beautiful Clearwater Beach, one of 'The Top Beaches in the World'! (top picture)

ClickGirl and Jackie walk a five mile trek on the Beach (Brenda's 'regular spot') ... and watch the sun set across the horizon. No dolphin pods were spotted yet. (picture below on left)

Dinner at the Famous Frenchy's Rockaway Grill on Clearwater Beach (picture below on right) ... with their signature grilled Grouper (named 'Best of The Bay') ... was amazing! The Margarita's were 'Awesome'!! Meetings all day tomorrow ... and more special events to come!! Stay tuned for more of our journey! No one will be eliminated along the way! But we have a special guest appearing tomorrow night - and we'll clue you in at the appropriate time! In the meantime ... all of you Adventurous Hearts ... have a 'good one'!!

I'd like to challenge you to help meet a goal that I believe is attainable! We started with 500 bracelets ... and have 260 remaining.

I wonder if there would be some of you who would be willing to commit to collecting donations for 10 - 20 - 30 - 40 or 50 bracelets?

Here is the deal:
1. You send me an Email, telling me how many bracelets you will commit to - and include your mailing address.

2. I will send you the bracelets, tagged (see photo above), and ready to distribute.

3. You will collect $5 (U.S. Dollars) for each bracelet - and keep track of whether they go to 'Heart' or 'Hurricane'.

4. Once you have collected all of the funds, you will send me a check for the amount that you receive donations for - along with how many go to 'Heart' and 'Hurricane'. I'll send the self-addressed envelope - if you will spring for the return postage.

5. We will try to have all donations returned to me by the end of December - so that the donations can be mailed by December 31st, 2005.

If we are able to get donations for the remaining bracelets – we could easily have a total of $1,500!!

If we can do this - we will be able to donate:
$500 to The American Heart Association
$500 to The World Heart Federation
and $500 to The Red Cross!

That's not bad ... for a fairly small group of 'Adventurous Hearts' !!!

Think about giving a Red Heart Bracelet for the holidays – to those people who you care about. A gift of a donation to The American Heart Association, The World Heart Federation or The Red Cross is a wonderful holiday gift for the ones you Love … including the Children or Grandchildren in your lives. Perhaps Co-Workers or Friends. These bracelets would make a terrific ‘stocking stuffer’, Chanukkah or Kwanzaa gifts. I have been asked to remove all reference, and certain photos, and I feel it important that I comply - even though, as most of you are aware, I have been extremely supportive and positive about that venture. But, in an effort to not create any confusion, and to adhere to the request that was made, I ask for your help in supporting this request.

Fortunately - I don't think we will be at a loss for things to discuss! You are all so great ... and I feel certain that we will be able to continue on ... with great discussions ... inspirational quotes ... and funny stories and jokes.

So ... moving right along ... I've collected all of the various comments that have been made about our new group name - and last night - came up with this (a combination of several elements):

We are
“Adventurous Hearts”
… on the Journey of our Lives

We are all on a Journey in life …
whether it is Traveling or just a Journey,
on Our Journey...

'Adventurous Hearts' seemed to be the most preferred name - with 'Journey of the Hearts' a close second ... so I kept playing around with them last night - and thought - 'Yes' - we are - 'Adventurous Hearts' ... and we are on Our own Journeys. So ... this just felt 'right'.

Though I appreciate the suggestion about having something with humor - we've sort of 'been there' - with 'The Nanny Nanny Boo Boo Sisterhood' - and the reason that we were coming up with a new name - is that many of the posters were wanting something that better reflected who we were ... and what we were about. And something that could be taken seriously. We were looking for something that combined Adventure ... Traveling (i.e. Journey) ... and 'Heart'. The Heart doesn't come from 'Heart Disease' - but rather, from Us being caring 'Hearts' ... and because we met - through a search for 'Romance' (and Adventure). So that is really where the 'Heart' came from. And - that we so shared our hearts with each other - through our journey in the Blogs.

When we were looking for a cause - we just linked into American Heart and World Heart (with a Global reach) - because it was a natural connection - and the Red Bracelets that we had chosen would work great with that cause. After Hurricane Katrina, we linked in with Red Cross as well - so that we will be donating to three different causes. When we end the Red Heart Campaign at the end of the year - we can go in any direction that we want - and can give to any cause that we choose - and the 'Heart' will continue to be appropriate. So that is a little 'history' - of where all of that came from ... and about the possibilities before us! A huge Thanks! ... to everyone who contributed! Even the humorous suggestions! All were appreciated!!

and other Friends!

Several of you have asked me about my friend Jackie - so I would like to tell you about how we met. I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie in Chicago - after having communicated with her many times in the weeks prior to our arrival there. We have become great friends … and went from staying up until 2 a.m. talking in Chicago … to staying up until 2 a.m. talking on the phone, when we returned home. It has been great fun and we discovered that we share many of the same goals and desires in life. To share a little bit about what we have been working on … here is a message from Jackie:

Hello Everyone,

I was packing for a trip to Playa Del Carmen and Merida, Mexico when I saw a 'Wildest Dreams' segment on Oprah, in April, 2005. It struck me that, if you are a traveler – you are going to keep traveling – always – even alone. That desire to see and experience the world and its peoples, geography, cultures, customs, food – every little aspect of the human experience - is with you always.

Unfortunately, at our age … and being single, you do not always have the luxury of having someone that can go with you, let alone a great travel companion. But we travelers will keep on boarding that next plane for the next great adventure that awaits – even if it is by ourselves.

My daughter and I have traveled continuously together the last seventeen years and, with the end of her high school years fast approaching, I realized that I was losing my perfect traveling companion … to college. Several years ago I decided that, after practicing law for so many years (twenty-three years in November) and doing so many of our adventures together, that this would be the time for me to embark on some of my wildest dreams!!!

The trip to Mexico, in May, was the culmination of all of my previous trips, and was used to finalize different options in the Yucatan that might be of interest to us Solo Travelers, Mother and Daughter Travelers, and Adventurers of All Types. (It was my 5th visit there in the last 3 years and I have traveled to Mexico for the past 30 years). I put the final touches on my concept, by doing the planning and organizing of several small group trips, that I will be leading to Playa this winter, for the purpose of fun and adventure, but also – and more importantly - to serve as a focus group in developing a concept that I have been working on for the past couple of years, with several business partners. We all know that having someone to share in your adventure is SO MUCH MORE FUN AND MEANINGFUL …THAN TRAVELING BY YOURSELF.

“Learning - and the desire to keep on learning - through travel, is the key to ageless living” has been my pet project for the last four years. And it will emerge in the form of several venues starting winter 2006. There are all of these wonderful, talented, gifted, loving, caring, beautiful and single women out there - who want to share in adventures and travels with others … and we need to make that happen!!!

I have four years worth of research accumulated on this subject and my GREAT ESCAPE FOR WINTER 2006 is to put in motion the Playa “Laboratory”, along with meeting and participating in focus groups with women who have the same interest. Women are ‘the best’ at being able to identify and make a real difference in our plight. I knew four years ago that, as a single person, there was a venue that was needed for small groups of people to travel together in search of exploring this great world - in a more nontraditional manner than existing travel groups or single groups offer. I also knew that with my daughter being out of high school, that this was the time in my life to combine both business and pleasure pursuits … AND THE COUNTDOWN IS ON…………….

As a woman, mother, traveler, researcher, writer and business person – there is another story that needs to be told … and that story is about all of the talented and gifted women who we have met through this Blogging adventure!!!!

In the 1970’s I traveled all over Ireland collecting data and writing a research paper on the Irish women’s position in Irish society. Now, I want to travel to meet women who are interested in meeting and discussing their dreams as single women in the 2000’s … with regards to travel and adventure … for an article that I am writing.

It is time for me to continue on with the plans that I have developed. I have asked Brenda (who has so much talent - both behind and in front of the camera – not to mention great computer and writing skills) to join with me in my venture! I will be flying down to the great state of Florida next weekend - to meet with Brenda … and to map out our route for THE GREAT ESCAPE FOR WINTER 2006 … and to formulate our ideas for promoting single women who want to be involved in travel and adventure. In addition, I will be continuing to work on my Playa experiment! There are so many of us ‘would be’ women travelers … and we need to band together and promote ourselves and our unique talents … our life stories … and our dreams!!!!

Jackie and I are both very excited about this venture … and it is the culmination of plans that have been ‘in the making’ for a long time. We just didn’t know each other yet … and our recent meeting and discussions had us realizing that we were both working towards very similar goals. As some of you know, I have been working towards getting into Documentary production … and I have traveled extensively over the past years – for business and pleasure. I’ve been working on plans for quite some time, to take my background in production and my love and experience in travel – and weave those things together, to allow me to make a living that will take me into my retirement years. I love sharing the stories and lives of people … and I’ve had a dream to lead groups of travelers … and document their journey … and then put their experiences to DVD – for a permanent and lasting memory of their trip.

I’ve had a great amount of experience in leading groups of travelers – and my first major trip was when I was 19 years old – traveling to Israel and Greece with my father, and a small group of ‘pilgrims’ to the Holy Land. Those travels continued when I was married … and beyond the trips to Israel, Egypt, Greece, etc. - my former husband and I developed and led youth trips to places such as Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas. One of our strongest programs was leading teens on Backpacking trips on the Appalachian Trail … with Whitewater Rafting excursions at the end of the hike. All of those experiences were of great help, when I went into the production world, and was responsible for managing and coordinating travel for our large productions and technical crews - as we traveled the United States … and the World.

Like Jackie, I have been working and planning and waiting for ‘the right moment’ for something to happen to allow me the opportunity to make my dreams a reality. When Jackie and I first started talking … I had a ‘gut feeling’ that something good would come from it. After spending so much time communicating before Chicago … and being together nearly every waking moment while we were in Chicago … and then having many heartfelt conversations since our return, we are both very excited about working together on this venture … and about providing opportunities for women to travel together. We knew for sure that we were one the right track – when Jackie sent me her input for this post – which included her plans for ‘The Great Escape’. Now … this is too much of a coincidence … but can you guess what the name of the website is - that I started working on, and developing for myself, over two years ago? It is … ‘The Great Escape’! I kid you not! If that is not ‘a sign’ … then nothing is! So our teaming up to combine our efforts – is not only a dream come true for the two of us … but a serendipitous act of fate!! (We had many other amazing ‘connections’ … that you just will not believe)!!

In addition to our venture, we are looking forward to continuing relationships with all of you, our ‘Sisters of The Blog’… and to helping facilitate connecting you with others … and initiating ways for you to communicate the things that are important to you … to others in the group – and beyond. That’s one reason why I wanted to develop the website for this group (with whatever name we end up choosing) – which will allow each of you to advertise and promote the businesses and causes that are important to you … and to have a forum for sharing that information!

Being a part of our Sisterhood will also allow all of us to ‘give back to others’ – by continuing our Red Heart Bracelet Campaign … which we will begin promoting more heavily, so that we can have all of the donations collected by the end of the year. I’ll have more on that in the next Blog!

Who would have thought that – that one day in April … would have offered so much … to so many!

We've all been talking about taking a Cruise together ... so that we can all meet face to face. I'm working on a letter to Oprah ... because we thought she may want to be involved in some way. Thought I'd start a new thread ... so we didn't have to scroll
- all - the - way - down - to - the - bottom anymore. : )

So ... just carry your comments on over to this new post.

We are getting lots of great thoughts and comments on here ... and it is interesting to notice that so many of us seem to be thinking along the same lines. Seems that it is true - 'great minds think alike'! I appreciate this opportunity to get to know all of you ... and I really am enjoying checking out the other Blogs ... and seeing how creative and clever all of you are. So cool!

A few things to think about:

1. Let me know if you have sent in your video/bio to __. We will do a 'Support Blog' for those participating ... and cheer them on. So far, I know Dancingirl is 'in' ... and Leslie is going to submit hers soon. Will be fun to know who has taken the plunge!

2. Do you prefer the long running threads? Or would you prefer separate threads for different subjects? We could have one __/__ thread ... one thread for 'Traveling Stories' ... one thread for 'Life Stories' ... one for 'Relationship Stuff' or 'Online Dating Escapades' ... etc. Whatcha think?

3. How many of you are serious about us meeting up? I think that it is a great idea ... and maybe it would be worth having a thread just to discuss that. I've heard comments about a Cruise ... Belize ... someone has a place in N.C. ... and a few other suggestions. Let me know what you think! I'll mention it on the other Blogs too - so we can see if we can organize something.

Hello Senior Bachelorettes!

After the __ site was shut down recently, I thought that we needed a place to go ... if it happened again. I had not been writing much ... because of an insane work schedule. But I read every day ... and felt like I was beginning to get to know all of the regular writers: Happy, Suzanne from Mesa, AZ, Wanda, VJ, CJ in SoCal, Cathy from Carolina, Ciao ... P, Marlyn, BDNC, Belizegial, Klew, Bikernut and Biker Princess, Leslie in VanCan, Travelin, Mary R, Debby Eddy, Blue Eyes 1947, Sybil, OnryNurse, California Bloggette, Canadian Bloggette, AuburnMichelle, Deebee, __ and Soft_Rain ... and the many different Anonymous posters. I missed the contact for those few days the Blog was 'off'. And realized that I probably was hooked on Blogging!

I haven't sent in a tape for __. I am considering it ... but don't believe I totally fit __'s criteria. But I may still do it! In the meantime ... reading about the trips ... and hearing comments from so many bright women on __'s Blog has caused me to pay attention ... and has me wanting to travel and to bring some romance into my life. And it has brought out a great desire to connect with others. So ... I decided to start this Blog ... as a first step in that effort. I've started with this general topic - but feel free to let me know if there are additional topics that you want to discuss. A Blog is not a Blog ... without Bloggers!

As I mentioned - no real rules. And ... no deleting. I believe that a Blog is supposed to be for honest and free expression ... so I don't anticipate deleting posts. As an Administrator, if you put yourself 'out there' - you should accept that you are going to receive some posts that may be of a different view point ... or offer a different opinion from your own. I don't think that questions ... or confrontation ... or having interaction with each other should be cause for 'deletable' posts. So ... hopefully ... people can feel free to share here - whatever their heart desires.
