CRUISING to the CARIBBEAN!

So ... Let's Plan a Cruise!!

We've all been talking about taking a Cruise together ... so that we can all meet face to face. I'm working on a letter to Oprah ... because we thought she may want to be involved in some way. But there are a few things that need to be agreed upon first. So - please add your comments to this Blog ... and we'll go from there.

Thanks much!

(No - this isn't the real Cruise Ship - ha ha - but AAA Travel is one of my biggest clients - so I didn't think they would mind me using this shot).

FYI: __ wrote on his __ Blog that he would like to do a trip to Alaska next summer - 2006 - and meet all of us ... and have other __ come along too.

Please share your thoughts!

Greetings!
Loved SB Newsletter today - and the clarification about the Alaskan Cruise that RR is suggesting. But ... I still think there are those interested in a Cruise (maybe Caribbean) for those not chosen by RR. Please let me know your thoughts. I believe that someone said that Suzanne Mesa AZ had started researching prices. I'll touch base with her - and, if so, we can post that info here. No need to be duplicating efforts. : )

So ... here's to Cruising!

Brenda & Suzanne - count me in but as I mentioned somewhere before, as a teacher I'm limited to Christmas, Spring Break, and summer. But let me know everything about what's going on. Maybe I could arrange something.

Okay ... so:

-- WHO wants to go (Sign up here)

-- WHAT type of Cruise (3/4/5/7 Days - ??)

-- WHEN - Month that works best for you

-- WHERE (Caribbean, Hawaii, Disney,??)

-- WHY - we got that covered! : )

-- OPRAH - Yes or No (would you go if it is connected with Oprah ... or would you rather us just 'do our own thing'?)

This isn't a firm commitment - just finding out the amount of interest and what will work best for each person. I'm working on a letter to Oprah - and there are several categories that we can submit to - without doing a video. I'll post more on that later. Just wanted to get this started first.

Thanks much!!

Check out Hawaii 7-day on Pride of Aloha and/or Pride of America

In a nutshell:

Sail Away—Big Ship—sail Away!

The big ship is “The Pride of Aloha,” a Norwegian Cruise Line newcomer. The sail away is from a pier near Honolulu’s Aloha Tower to Nawilliwilli Kauai every Sunday.

The big ship takes me to my extended paradise—Kauai (The Garden Isle); Hilo and Kona on Hawaii (The Big Island); to Maui (The Valley Isle), and back to Honolulu on Oahu on Saturday.

America’s ship, she is called, and she sails away with about 2400 people onboard for freestyle cruises around the Hawaiian Islands with shore excursions on Kauai, Hawaii, Maui and Oahu. She is a floating city complete with eleven decks of food, fun and frolic which include a full-service spa, an art auction, fitness center, pools and jacuzzis, golf and basketball, shuffleboard, ping pong, library, emporium, internet cafĂ©, and entertainment nightly.

Ultimate pampering is key to having a good time, as is a full understanding and appreciation for freestyle cruising. When you like formal, go formal. When you like barefoot, go barefoot. Anything goes and the sooner this concept is understand the more fun and excitement flow freely.

From the lava flow on the Kona coast to the tip of Haleakalea; from the lavender fields near Kula to the jacaranda near Hana; from the Kapulua golf courses to the snorkeling near Molakini and Lanai one must marvel at this environmental paradise we call Hawaii.

Returning to Maui after a short shore excursion on Oahu, to include snorkeling at Hanama Bay and shopping at Waikiki, confirms my belief that I have found paradise on Maui, my Maui. The short, 30-minute flight from Honolulu to Kapalua is a scenic wonder not to be missed.

I mentioned somewhere else about cruising to Alaska on the Norwegian Sun and it was marvelous. Like you say, Neva, freestyle is THE way to go. I've been to Honolulu and Maui (one week at each, 2 different years) and preferred Maui. Would love to see the other islands. Would the cruise be less expensive if we went in the summer? (since Hawaii seems to be the Westerners winter escape place)

To answer your questions Brenda, for me, of course July or August is ideal, but I could do a week in December (Xmas break) or March during Spring Break (we get 2 weeks). I'd prefer 7 days 'cuz I want to get to know you all better and having done a week before, it was just right. There's so much to do on board ship plus the day trips would be fantastic. Never done snorkeling but anxious to try it. Where? I like the idea of the Hawaaian islands for us "girls" but I wouldn't mind doing the Alaska one again with senior bachelors/bachelorettes, too.

I think the only way I'd want to be connected to Oprah is if she was paying the shot in which case, she'd probably have it filmed, too. For a free cruise, I'd go for it. Otherwise, let's do our own thing. I think there are many of us who have made connections with each other and would really love to meet in person and get to know one another better.

I blogged this before: An all ladies cruise of us drug free, non smoking social drinkers would make bonding possible as nothing else can. But come to think of it, there are probably not enough of us to occupy a whole ship...never cruised. Maybe mixed/coed with some times set aside for a get together. On the dance floor we'll
probably have an all girl meeting (lol). For me time and place are up for grabs, I mean for a ride.
BUT MEET WE MUST, PLEASE!!
